What this node does

Image Concat joins upstream images into a single image. It has a growable images input (up to 12 slots) and a batch input that takes a whole image batch from Grid Split, Image Stage and similar nodes; every image in the batch joins the concat. The reorder strip in the node body sets the order — drag the thumbnails and the order is stored in the hidden clip_order field. Changing the order or any setting re-joins the images after about 0.25 s, and the result is a COMFYTV_IMAGE for downstream nodes.

When to use it

  • Put character sheets or storyboard frames side by side in one image.
  • Edit the cells from Grid Split, then join them back with the same columns and gap.
  • Prepare one combined reference image for a model.

Parameters

layout

  • Row: one row; every image is scaled to the height of the first image.
  • Column: one column; every image is scaled to the width of the first image.
  • Grid: every cell is the size of the first image; other images are scaled to fit and centered.

cols

Images per row in grid layout. Capped at the number of images.

gap / outer_gap

Space between images, in pixels of the first image. Outer gap adds the same margin around the whole image. These match Grid Split’s border / outer border: the same columns and values join split cells back to the original size.

bg

Fill color for gaps and empty grid space. Transparent by default; white, black or a custom color are available.

Outputs

Tips

  • The order comes from the reorder strip, not slot numbers. Batch images show as B1, B2…; single inputs as #0, #1….
  • Browser canvases cap a side at about 16384 px; a larger result is scaled down uniformly to fit.
  • Grid Split — splits one image into a grid; the reverse of this node.
  • Video Concat — joins video clips end to end.
  • Compare — shows two images side by side without producing a new one.
